I use mine on my 14" iBook, a laptop that sees frequent travels in a heavy collegiate backpack. The NeoCase has kept my baby scratch-free from the day I brought my iBook home. The case has kept dirt and dust out when the iBook is closed or in use. Most important, the case protected the iBook from an accidental spill--not completely waterproof, but the case absorbed a few drops of soda (thanks, MOM), and none of the liquid penetrated the neoprene fabric. My only concern at the start was about trapping heat, but the case keeps the side fans free, and when opened, there is enough space for air to freely travel between the back of the iBook and the case. The material is soft and protective, while being resilient enough to fit the Powerbook snuggly. I found that the built-in carry handles are good, but kinda get in the way, so just hid them between the case and the laptop and you're all set.
